Description and Requirements
Arab Americana is a new biannual journal to be published in 2027 that adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding Arab American life in the United States and across the Arab American diaspora through refereed secondary scholarship and original work produced in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and professional fields such as education, public health, the law, social work, informatics, media studies, business, and government affairs. The journal nurtures intellectual conversations both inside and outside the academy to increase knowledge by, about, and for Arab Americans and all those influenced by or connected to their diverse heritage. Similarly, the journal features multiple genres, inviting authors to submit research articles, essays, book reviews, round table conversations, edited primary sources, reports, interviews, and research notes. Adopting a community-engaged purview on the Arab American experience, the journal asks all authors to make their work accessible and engaging for readers outside their fields of specialization.
Application Instructions and Contact
Authors are invited to submit research articles (8,000 words), essays and reports (3,000-5,000 words), book reviews (1,000 words), round table comments, research notes, and interviews (1,500-3,000 words), and edited primary sources.
