Description and Requirements

Al-Quds Bard College seeks a full-time faculty fellow for the 2026-27 academic year to teach in and serve in a leadership capacity in its M.A. Program in American Studies. We seek an active scholar and committed teacher from the social sciences or humanities. This is an in-person position based at the Al-Quds Bard College campus in Abu Dis in the West Bank,

The successful candidate will have principal responsibilities in the M.A. Program in American Studies, but will also teach courses as appropriate in the M.A. Program in European Studies, as well as in AQB’s undergraduate program.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in the Humanities or Social Sciences required
  • Principal expertise in some aspect of the study of the United States of America
  • Ability to teach beyond American topics, including aspects of European Studies and Global Studies
  • All the other standard AQB qualifications about good teaching, interdisciplinary mindset, etc.

Currently, full-time faculty at AQB are required to be on campus for the major part of at least four days per week, with a fifth day required on occasion to accommodate academic obligations. In the event of continued extended closures of our physical campus, faculty will be expected to continue all of their duties in an on-line format.
