The American Studies Association annual conference is a place for scholars, teachers, students, activists, and artists to share interdisciplinary research on U.S. culture and history in a global context.

Participants otherwise separated by disciplines, geographies, and professional barriers come together, network, collaborate, and connect. Participants gather to present individual papers, panels, performances, roundtables, workshops, or alternative formats. As an event, the annual conference promotes the field of American Studies among its practitioners and with the public at large, through the recognition of a range of accomplishments.

The conference takes place in a different location each year, selected by the Association’s Executive Committee.
