The American Studies Association conducts an ongoing survery with recent PhD recipients in order to gauge important aspects and trends impacting our field, such as time taken to complete the degree, sources of financial aid and the amount of debt accrued, current employment prospects and long-term career goals.

This data, reported anonymously and collected on a rolling basis, helps the association better understand the circumstances of our nascent scholars and informs decisions regarding how to best support the future of American studies.
