The American Studies Association's standing and ad hoc committees provide invaluable support to the Executive Committee and National Council. They represent critical cross-sections of the association's constituency, as well as a broad range of interests that are indelibly linked to the association's mission and values.
Members interested in serving on a committee must be current members of the association, have a willingness to serve the association's constituents, and must be willing and able to supply appropriate information on scholarship, teaching, and university and public service to the Executive Committee.
Please read the 2019 call to apply or nominate for standing and prize committees to learn more about which positions are currently open for consideration.
Prospective candidates should complete the application below. Please include a brief statement outlining one’s qualifications and experience, letter(s) of reference relating the applicant’s experience to the committee’s work, and a two-page (maximum) curriculum vitae. Submissions will be reviewed by the Executive Commitee at their spring business meeting.
Please note: Terms start at the beginning of the ASA's fiscal year.
