The pedagogy resources found here are intended to support, challenge, and inspire teachers engaged in American studies pedagogy—and maintain a wide and robust conversation on pedagogical practice within the field.

The editors at American Quarterly regularly host an online supplement to bridge the topics found in each issue with American studies teaching and praxis. Read more about "Beyond the Page" and teaching forums in ASA Publications in the Classroom

Additionally, the ASA publishes a quarterly pedagogy feature (beginning Fall 2016) to spotlight American studies departments and programs, as well as caucuses and committees. The intention of these features is twofold: to represent a wide range of approaches available for American studies content and to provide materials useful to instructors who are designing courses or programs in a range of institutional contexts.

Please contact pedagogy coordinator Curtis Hisayasu if your program, organization, or group would like to feature its pedagogy in this space, or if you would like to nominate others whose teaching you find compelling or notable.
