The American Studies Association offers individual memberships at annual rates based on household income to make participation in the association accessible to everyone. Please use the link below to join or renew your membership, and contact ASAsupport@jh.edu if you experience technical difficulties. You can also verify your current membership status here.
Annual Membership Rates

| $25 | Under $25,000 |
| $65 | $25,000-$50,000 |
| $95 | $50,000-$75,000 |
| $150 | $75,000-$100,000 |
| $200 | $100,00-$125,000 |
| $275 | Over $125,000 |
All individual memberships expire at the end of the year for which they were paid (for example, if you paid for a 2025 membership, it would expire on December 31, 2025). All membership purchases after December 1 will be for membership for the following year (for example, if you paid for membership on December 2, 2025, if would be for a 2026 membership). This is why we encourage & remind folks to renew their memberships at the beginning of the year. Individual membership terms start from the time of purchase until the end of the calendar year.
All institutional memberships are based on the Fiscal year; starting on July 1 and ending on June 30.

If you'd prefer to apply for or renew membership by mail, please mail your full payment, to: Johns Hopkins University Press Journals, Publishing Division, P.O. Box 19966, Baltimore, MD 21211-0966. Checks should be made payable to "Johns Hopkins University Press Journals." Use the table above to determine the appropriate dues amount based on your income.
