The American Studies Association offers grants of up to $3,000 to members who engage in collaborative projects with community-based organizations that enhance the use of American studies research, teaching, and publications in local programs and activities. The grants are intended to enhance American studies involvement in the ongoing work of community-based organizations, and to strengthen the relationship between the ASA and those organizations.

The association will give priority to projects that meet at least one of the following objectives: community-based research, civic participation, social justice, and educational or cultural innovation. Matching grants are encouraged.
