The Department of American Studies and the Department of English at George Washington University seek applications to fill a joint tenure-track position in Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies at the rank of assistant professor beginning in Fall 2023. We welcome all areas of specialization, including history, literature, film, media studies, new media studies, cultural studies, and visual studies. 

Responsibilities include maintaining a robust research and publishing agenda. The candidate would also advise and teach undergraduate and graduate students in English and American Studies courses, in GW’s new Asian American Studies minor, and in the candidate’s own areas of research. Service would be limited to the candidate’s primary department.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in American Studies, English, or a related field by date of appointment, and have teaching experience and research experience or potential, as demonstrated by works in progress or scholarly publications.
