The Department of Ethnic Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), invites candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-track, academic-year Assistant Professor position to begin September 14, 2023. We seek Ethnic Studies generalist candidates with expertise in comparative frameworks in U.S. histories of settler colonialism, capitalism, genocide, slavery, sovereignty, and racialization whose research complements the current strengths of the department. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to teach courses in African American/Africana/Black Studies, Asian American Studies, and/or Queer/Trans of Color Critique. Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies or a closely related field required at the time of appointment.
